New York is for Lovers

T-shirt: American Apparel
Blazer: American Eagle
Jeans: JBrand
Boots: Baker's
Watches: Thrifted
Nails: Essie "Butler Please"
Lipstick: MAC "Ruby Woo"

I'm so fortunate to have made a blogger friend here at school...it was supposed to be rainy all week except for one day and she texted me the night before to plan for pictures. That's the kind of for-thought and organization I need!

This t-shirt from American Apparel is honestly the comfiest t-shirt I've ever put on. It's super soft, pre-washed to be broken in and slightly oversized, and it's such a cute print! I got this one and two others on a sale where they were just 5 DOLLARS EACH, which is crazy considering how expensive AA usually is. That's generally the reason for my low bank statements...

Other than that, there isn't much to report! School is entering the 6TH week on monday and it's blowing my mind. Time really does just fly sometimes!

Stripes and Chains

Here's the deal, folks. I went out thrifting today to a new place called Saver's. I had some errands to run in the city, and since we don't have a Saver's over here I decided that it was the perfect opportunity (they're opening a new store only 10 minutes from my house in March though!). I then had the BRILLIANT idea to create a "come thrifting with me" style vlog where I video some interesting finds and such. So I go on over, lalala, everything is wonderful (except when I got lost), only to find out that a) I'd forgotten my SD card and b) my camera doesn't have video capabilities. I am crushed. I've always wanted to make fashion/beauty Youtube videos, but I guess this is a sign that I'm just not ready for it yet.

Anywho, this is the outfit I wore. I'll be posting pictures of my thrifting finds later this week. By the time I was able to take photos, the lighting was too dark and I didn't want to use my flash since there is jewelry involved.

Have you ever tried making your own Youtube videos? What are some of your favorite places to thrift at, and have you tried anywhere new lately?

Also, this post is for Marionberry's "Trend of the Month". I'll be having my post linked on her blog, and doing a new trend every month, so make sure to look for me and check out her blog as well!

High-Low Zipper top - Kohl's - old
American Apparel Disco Pants - $85
Half Glitter Boots - Baker's Shoes - $12.50
Demin vest - Goodwill - $3
Silver chain necklace - Saver's - $4.99

(Sorry for the bad lighting. We didn't start taking these until after 4 o'clock and by then the sun was well on it's way down)

Come Over

It's been officially one month since my last post...and it doesn't even seem like it's been that long! Really! Everything has been a crazy whirlwind of activity with school and friends and what seems like so much else. Never fear, however, because you always come back to the things you love and I have to say that blogging and fashion will forever remain a true love.

Apt9 sweater, thrifted - $6
American Rag jeans, Macy's - old
Equestrian style boots, Payless - $40
Scarf, FashionBug - $6
White stone ring, Forever21 - $3
Horse wallet, gift

This was just a casual school outfit that I wore to class the other day. Nothing fancy to really report about it other than I just needed to jump back into posting. It seems that if I wait for an "event" then it'll never get done! It's too bad that I don't have more pictures for you guys, but I've been quite busy with the mini photography business that I do on the side and my poor camera has been run ragged. Consequently it is very often out of battery and my sister was only able to get one shot in before it died. I promise that I'll have a better selection of photos next time.

You also probably noticed that I have my glasses on here. I usually have my contacts in but they just weren't cooperating so I opted to stop fighting it and just wear them. Oh! And my hair is straight! I'm not sure if you all have seen that yet. Someone just commented on my Lookbook about it and I had completely forgotten. Let me know what you think, even though it's up and you can't see much.

Well without much else to say, I think I'll leave it at that. Tata for now, everyone, hopefully you'll hear from me soon!

#2 Lust List - Fall 2012

1. Nordic print leggings | 2. Mustard yellow skirt | 3. Maroon beanie | 4. Essie "Lilacism" | 5. Madden Girl "Zoiie" boots

Hello there, everyone, I'm home! I actually came home on Monday evening, but it was quite an ordeal. It seemed to take forever and a day, but I'm finally back into my normal routine. I've been sleeping like crazy (Wednesday I slept 18 hours!) but other than that, the antibiotics they have me on now are certainly doing the trick and I'm on the fast track to recovery. The worst part about this is that I am no longer allowed to have caffeine :( It's the price I have to pay for non-damaged kidneys, I suppose.

Now on to the real point! "The Lust List" Fall 2012 edition is here, and I am literally drooling over the items I have on here. The first is a pair of nordic print leggings. How adorable are the little deer floating around on them?! I've not actually found them in stores around me yet, they've just been floating around the internet. I'm a little afraid I won't like how the look once I order them, so I'm hoping they crop up somewhere soon... The second item is a mustard yellow skirt. I adore the mustard yellow color for fall (I'm also on the lookout for a pair of tights this color!), and this skirt is actually from Target. I think I'll make my way over there some time soon to try and snatch one up.

Item three is this super soft, super rich colored beanie from Topshop. I am so envious of people who have enough money to shop their on a regular basis, and for now I'm stuck looking for a knock off version of this or swooning after this one. Speaking of swooning, this grey-lilac Essie polish is at the top of the list. We all know I have a serious addition to polish, and a new season just means a new reason to buy new colors...right?

Last, but certainly not least, are the "Zoiie" Madden Girl boots. Last winter I saw them everywhere, but I had no idea they were Madden Girl brand, and I certainly wasn't forward enough to walk up to the owners and ask where they bought them. But this winter I am determined to find myself a perfect pair of brown equestrian style boots, even if they aren't this exact pair. My birthday is coming up in a few months, people, in case you're looking for ideas early ;)

Smudges, Spots, and Tracks

Hello there blogging world! I need to start off with a big fat apology for not posting an Under $10 Tuesday post. I completely spaced on what day of the week it was, and I only just realized today when I looked at my calendar and realized it was already Thursday. Whoopsies! But no sense dwelling in the past so lets just move on, and hopefully you all can forgive me!

This isn't a very proper outfit post, I need to start out by saying, because though my friend Rachel took some great shots for me, the condensation from our Starbucks cups somehow must have ended up on  my lens because most of the photos have spotty smudges all over them. I was so upset to find this out, especially since we boiled under the sun taking photos this afternoon and it's the last time I will see her before she leaves for school this Saturday. This is probably the third time something like that has happened to me so you think I might have learned my lesson by now...

Button up, Forever21
Shorts, Ralph Lauren, Goodwill
Boots, hand-me-down

Most of these are just candid photos, shotty quality...I apologize. Really. But I felt like this could be just a post to update you on whats been happening recently. All that there is really to update on is the fact that I've been really into menswear recently (hence the oversized button-up).

And just in case you were wondering, here is a gorgeous photo of us..yes. We really do look this attractive all the time. Please, boys, control yourselves.

On a serious note, however, please go click on my eBay banner in the sidebar to the right. I've got some of my old clothes and some times on there because I'm trying to raise some money to trade in the camera I currently have (Nikon Coolpix D510) for a better one (Nikon D3100). Go take a look, and within the next few days, I'll be listing some of the items I've made! Look back, but I'll definitely make a nice quality post about them when they're all ready :)
