Help Me Style...

Creepers aren't something you can be wishy-washy on; they're a love/hate item for almost everyone, and I fell into the latter category for quite a long time. I had a change of heart in the last month or so, though, and now they're all I can think about! They made an appearance in Lust List #3, and if I don't get a pair soon they will make another appearance in Lust List #4.

I'm just in love. I decided to go with a solid quality brand, TUK, as I've heard so many great things from people who have these specific ones. I also chose the lower platform (1.25") since I'm already so tall. I didn't feel the need to add almost 2" more to my height.

This is where you all come in, though. I have a plan in the works that I'll be letting loose on soon that will help fund them, but what I really need your help with is choosing which pair to buy: suede or leather. Please leave me a comment with what you think (and why!). Also, let me know how you style them if you have any pair, or how you would style them if you did own a pair, and hopefully I'll have them soon to show you how I've styled them!

Savings Sunday

I am a huge fan of looking at hauls. It's kind of like window shopping without ever having to get out of bed and look decent. Something that really irritates me when I watch videos or read posts of things people have bought, however, is what they classify as a "deal". Of course sometimes they really did find something for a total steal, and I can't help squeal along with them as they show it off. But what I'm finding is that often times these people will show a scarf and go on and on about how it was such a good deal, and when they actually tell us, I'm blown away! $45 for a cotton circle scarf? No thank you!

So I'm here to hopefully bring a little reprieve to those of us who don't have the funds to classify $45 for a scarf as a 'bargain'. Hopefully I can make this a scheduled Sunday post, but I just couldn't resist posting this today! I'll compile items here for you that are all under $15. They might be regular price, sale, or clearance, and I'll let you know if they are so you'll know to snatch them up ASAP if necessary.

All four of these tops are from ASOS and I am in love. I'm quite obsessed with the crop tops, and I'll probably end up looking straight out of the 90s but I don't even care! They're all available in different colors too.

FOREVER21

Generally I don't like to shop at Forever21 unless its for fad pieces that I won't be wearing in a few months. The quality is usually just lacking and I know lots of other girls will have it too. I do really like to shop there for jewelry, however. It's always cheap, and if you catch a sale you can walk out with a 4 or 5 pieces for less than $10. So I just picked a few of my favorites, but almost all of their pieces are under $15.

What's Your Opinion On...

I've posted a couple of videos on Youtube since I posted one last, but I got a couple comments about how it's annoying and unintelligent of me to post them on here. Do you agree? Let me know in the comments. Either way, I'm going to post my last few videos below, and if you all hate this, please do let me know (in the kindest way of course! haha). I don't want to continually post things that you all hate. I just thought it might be a good way to share if you didn't regularly check Youtube. So now that I've rambled for an entire paragraph, here they are, and enjoy! (Hopefully!)

Lust List: Beauty Edition!

Today was a snowy yucky day at home, even my college cancelled classes for the afternoon! So thankfully I've been holed up in my house underneath my heated blanket watching Youtube videos and recorded Friends episodes(always a good choice!). It's a serious mess here, none of the roads are clear, the news is covering accidents and messes left and right, so if you're in an area like this: STAY HOME. 

All this lounging around without makeup made me think about all the makeup I WISH I had! So I thought I'd make a special "Lust List" specifically for beauty products, and who knows, maybe this could become a regular thing along with the regular Lust Lists! Let me know if you enjoy!

Liebster Award!

I've been given the "Liebster Award" by Sorcha of In Someone's Eyes. This is so amazing, and I love the idea behind this award. It's all about recognizing blog under 200 followers and showing them love. Sometimes it really is hard to keep moving forward if you feel like you're not reaching anyone, but there is always someone reading, and this is a great way to show that. 

The first "rule" for this award is to list 11 facts about yourself. 

1. It's really hard to find hats that fit because my hair is so big.

2. I have two 20 lb cats.

3. Bargain shopping is what I live for. I cannot wait for yard sale season.

Kavita of SheWearsFashion or Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter. Kavita is the person who really inspired me to start my own blog, and I often draw inspiration from her. And Louise is just such a bubbly person!

2. What is the reason behind your blog name?

3. What is your most recent beauty product you have purchased?

I literally just spent $20 on products from e.l.f. on their website. It was a myriad of brushes, and eyeshadow pallet, and three new blushes/bronzers.

4. Would you recommend this product and why?

I haven't gotten them yet, but I'll make a blog post review and video on them when I do!

5. What is your favourite store? (High end or high street)

Probably either H&M or American Apparel.

6. Where is your favourite destination you've travelled?

I haven't travelled much, but I loved New York City when I visited with my school in high school.

7. Why did you start blogging?

I really needed an outlet for my fashion thinking since many of my friends are tired of hearing my blab, I'm sure.

Oh this is the dreaded question. I love Amber from Amberlee Tea, Kavita from SheWearsFashion, Sammi from BeautyCrush, Louise of Sprinkle of Glitter, Zoe from Zoella, Marion from Marionberry, Krystin from Suburban Faux-Pas, and gosh...so many more.

9. Which celebrity style do you admire most?

It might be cliche, but Mary Kate Olsen is such an inspiration to me. It must be the inner 90s child shining through. I've also recently discovered Miley Cyrus's new look is very inspiring!

10. What is your favourite foundation?

I'm actually on the hunt for a favorite right now, so anyone please leave a comment if you have a great favorite!

The Lust List #3

It's been a while since I've done a lust list, and with Valentine's Day right around the corner it seemed appropriate! Here are a few things that I haven't been able to get my mind off of recently. 

I'm not sure what first jumps out to you, but the first thing I see is this AH-MAY-ZING leather biker jacket from SheInside.com. It looks so chic and sexy and sleek, perfect for the grudge biker cool look, which isn't exactly anything someone might say about me when they meet me, haha. It's very contrasted to my personality, and thats why I love it. It's edgy and dark and just fabulous.

Moving down, there are two new shades by OPI that I just need to get. The light blue is "Can't Find My Czechbook" and it's a milky, yet bright, almost robin's egg blue. The second color is "You're Such a Buddahpest" (you have to love these names!) and it's a PERFECT lilac shade. If you ask the girl who does my nails, I literally spend every spare moment I had looking for a shade exactly like this last fall and the thrill I feel at it finally existing is just beyond words.

Next is the floral bustier top from Topshop. Since it's from Topshop, I won't be able to readily get my hands on it in the states, but I'd happily settle for any girly floral top like this one. I think it would just be lovely for spring (yes, I'm already thinking ahead to spring outfits. 2013 A/W Fashion Week was last week for gosh sakes! ;) ).

Going up is a curling wand by Baby Bliss and this is really just the first pink one I could find, and I wouldn't be particular at all about which curling wand I can get my hands on. I just think it would be super handy to have one to reshape my curls after a day or two since it's terrible for them to be washed every day, and they tend to start to lose their shape after a day and a half.

Next, I'm sure my sister and friends are all screaming "hypocrite!" at this next item, because I swore I would never ever wear a pair of these, but creepers have grown on me SO much that I just need to get my hands on a pair before they fade away. I'm hoping they stick around for next fall/winter too. 

Last but not least is a MAC lipstick. I recently bought my first MAC lipstick and it's an absolute dream, so now I'm completely spoiled for them. This is "Saigon Summer" and looks like the PERFECT light orange/red color for spring and summer. I got into orange lips late last summer, so now I can seriously rock it this year.

January Favorites 2013

I contemplated making a blog post about these items instead of posting the video here, but I thought that some of these items would be difficult to photograph some of these accurately, and I also had a bunch of homework I needed to do. So here are my favorites for the month of January and I'd love to know what you all were in love with during the first month of the year!

25 Facts About Me

Oh hi there :) This post was inspired by a couple of bloggers who have done the same thing recently, and I thought it would be an easy way to share my life outside of the fashutysphere (<--new word right there, I better patent that). 

1. I love the radio. I have 12 different programmed stations and rarely listen to my iPod in the car

2. I've literally watched every episode of "Friends". More than once

3. Harry Potter is my all time favorite series.

4. I own 71 OPI nail polishes

5. My time management skills are probably some of the worst you'll ever encounter.

6. I adore baseball, especially Cardinals baseball.

7. I went to a private school for 1st-8th grade.

8. I've never left the United States and have only been as far west as Kansas City, Missouri

9. I went on a school trip to Washington DC in 8th grade and to NYC my sophomore year of high school.

10. My feet and hands are constantly cold, but I refuse to wear socks and only own one pair of gloves.

11. My boyfriend and I live 250 miles away from each other.

This picture is just over a year and a half old now. Time really does fly! (now I sound like an old woman, haha)

12. I love watching wedding TV shows.

13. I'm transferring schools in the fall

14. I absolutely hate cherries and anything cherry scented or flavored (candy, chapstick, medicine, etc)

15. My hair is naturally curly (no perm required) and it's always been like this.

16. When I was a junior in high school, I chopped off all my hair and kept it short until the end of my senior yet, and now I'm still in the process of growing it all back out.

17. I didn't fly on a airplane until I was almost 18 years old.

19. I kept a pacifier until I was almost 5 years old. 

20. I literally cannot remember any of my freshman year of high school except for the very last day, and I remember very little of my sophomore year.

Hahaha, sophomore year,  2009....classic.

21. I love love love babies, but they terrify me. I'm always afraid I'll permanently damage them or scar them for life.

22. Spongebob is my favorite cartoon, and Tyler and I regularly quote it to each other.

23. If I start eating Chips Ahoy cookies, I will literally eat an entire sleeve of them. I can't stop. They have to be the crunchy ones though, because the chewy kind are not as good.
